Do You Need To Give Shower Favors?

In some parts of the country, shower favors are given to each guest by the mommy-to-be to thank them for coming and bringing a gift. They are not necessary but are a nice touch. It's probably a good idea to talk with friends who have attended showers in your area to find out if a favor is expected.

They are usually fairly inexpensive and given to each guest as she leaves. A small, perfumed soap or candle wrapped in tulle or a chocolate candy bar with a themed wrapper makes a perfect favor.

If the party is more upscale and gifts are on the more expensive side, spending a little more isn't out of line. In that case, a favor personalized with the baby's name on it would be nice.
