Stay in Control With a Baby Shower Budget
The baby shower budget is something that typically gets overlooked, but like any good planning, a budget should be included. If you are really trying to throw this shower on a shoestring, a budget is a must. If you have a little more leeway, a budget is still a good idea, just to give you an idea of what you can spend for decorations, menu, favors, and such. Even with a small budget, you can still throw a great shower.
If the shower that you want to throw is more than you can spend, you might look for a co-host. Close relatives for good friends to the new mom make great co-hosts. It could be that Great Aunt Melba won’t be able to contribute much physical help, but she would be happy to contribute financially.
Once you know how much you can spend on the shower, divide the budget in to amounts for the invitations, cake, decorations and favors, rentals (if needed), location charges (if needed), and the menu.
After you set the shower budget, then set the date.
