What’s a Sprinkle Shower?
A sprinkle shower? If this isn’t mommy-to-be’s first baby, maybe a shower isn’t needed, but a little baby sprinkle shower would be appreciated. There are some people that believe that a shower should be held only for the first baby. And if that’s your beliefs about etiquette for a baby shower, but still feel like you want to help the new mommy out a bit, consider giving a sprinkle shower.
Gifts for a Sprinkle Shower
After the first baby, usually the bigger ticket items like strollers, bassinets, baby swings and such are tucked away for the next baby. Since you won’t need to help the new mommy gather everything she needs for her new baby, you might want to just replenish what she does have and uses.
Sprinkle Shower Invitations
On your invitations announce that you are giving a “sprinkle shower” instead of a baby shower. Advise the guest that they are to bring replenishable baby items such as diapers, wipes, powder, lotion, bibs, and burp cloths, and so forth. I’m sure you can find lots of items that mothers use everyday that needs to be resupplied.
Sprinkle Shower Decorations
As far as decorative themes, you could use any theme for a sprinkle shower that you would use for a regular baby shower. An umbrella theme would be cute to pick up on the sprinkle concept. Or you could combine the umbrella theme with the clothesline theme. An umbrella theme could also be combined with the ducky theme.
For a centerpiece, turn an open umbrella upside down on the table. You can purchase the baby shower umbrella shown to the right online from my favorite store. It doesn’t matter if you let it fall to the side or want to prop it up all around with other items such as tissue paper, gift boxes, rubber ducks, or whatever, or just let it fall to its side.
Instead of a gift table, you can open an umbrella and prop it in a corner, upside down again. Tell guests to put their gifts in the umbrella. This decoration dangler would look cute hanging over the gifts.

It seems like the baby shower forums aren’t as active as they once were. Maybe you can Google it and see what pops up. I’ll eventually add a forum, but that might be awhile.
The best gifts I got were gift cards, really Even small amounts added up to allow me to buy some of the bigger things that I needed. Also, diapers in larger sizes, wipes, and clothes sized 3 months and up. Bath supplies are also good, although if the baby is sensitive to them, they may not get used.Other than that, received a ton of bottles that I’ve never used (I breastfeed), and a lot of clothes that my boys never wore because they were all sized newborn. Even being born in the summer, my boys wore sleepers the vast majority of the time they were in newborn clothes.
I know I am going to chose expensive items but these two are what I appreciated!-Stroller/carseat combo.- BassinetNow some small gifts all new moms can use are -diaper swipes onesies baby toiletries It really depends what you are looking to spend.. Giftcards are always nice because the Mother could put them to buy the items she wants but didnt recieve at the shower.
